Poinsettia Ornament




Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post today.  This is another open front ornament and I used Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia for the feature inside today.  Just like my "Snowman" ornament that posted last week on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog I coated the inside of the ornament with Kids Choice Glue then sprinkled diamond dust coating the inside and dumping out the extra diamond dust.

  1.  Place a small mound of Yes glue in the bottom center of ornament.

  2.   wrap  2" piece of wooden skewer with green floral tape (if you do not have the tape you could paint it green) insert into the center of the mound of glue.  Let dry completely.

  3.  Cut a poinsettia from cardstock shade and shape all leaves and then build the flower. (see Susan's video here)

  4.  Cut pine boughs shade and shape with your fingers.

  5.   attach leaves and pine boughs to back of flower using a clear drying glue.  Let dry

  6.   Using clear drying glue randomly add glue to the flower, leaves and bough then sprinkle on diamond dust.

  7. Once the mound of glue is totally dry use clear drying glue and attach  poinsettia to stick - hold in place until glue is set.

  8.  Attach a bow around the top of the ornament.

Good Morning Everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I have been busy getting ready to go to Creative Keepsake Convention and then going to convention. I had a great time taking classes, shopping, eating and enjoying great friends. My post today is using one of Susan's Garden new dies and one of Karen Burniston's pop up dies.  It was hard to get a good clear picture because of the shine from the glitter. Card base is an A2 size card (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) 1.  Panel is made by using Karen Burniston's accordion rectangle die.  Attach a piece of sticker paper  4-1/2 X 5-3/4 to a pc of white cardstock the same size using clear double sided adhesive. A Breath of Spring

Hello My Crafty Friends! Finally the daffodils are blooming and tulips are starting to put on buds - Spring has finally arrived here in Maine. Today my card is one that a friend has requested for her mother.  I have chosen several spring flowers from several Spellbinders Susan's Garden releases to create my card.  For my card I have used S4-1085 Lily of the Valley from Spring flora, S4-1175 Lilac from Garden Favorites, S2-340 Forget Me Not from Garden Gate and S5-470 Vase, Daffodil & Narcissus from Summer Flora.   The card base is one I have done before using other shapes for window Sam Calcott has a YouTube video for it (Acetate Hexagon Card) you can find it here .  I chose to do circle instead of hexagon and cut my cardstock 7" square and circles were 4-3/4" and 3-3/4".  I created a box for the card using  Donna Griffith's How to make your own custom sized boxes YouTube video found here  it is a great video.  I chose to add a framed win...

Family Hydrangeas

Hello My Crafty Friends, Today I have another card for you that I created,  my inspiration actually being bouquet of dried hydrangeas that sits on my dresser in an old antique vase.  The hydrangeas are ones that grow across the front of my house they are called Bobo.  These hydrangeas have been on my dresser since I cut them last fall and one day as I looked at them my inspiration hit me. Inspiration: Here is how it was created. Step 1   Card base is 5" X 7 - I used Tonic Studios Craft Perfect Ivory White Card Blanks.  These card blanks are very nice quality also com in white and other sizes.
