Tulips in Pitcher

tulips in a pitcher

Welcome my crafty friends!

Here is a little breath of spring as you know “Spring Always Comes” just not soon enough for some of us that are in the depths of very cold snowy winter.

Today I have for you a card I have created for my niece’s birthday.  I have used Susan’s Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher, Tulips 2 along with ModaScrap’s Wood Effect paper.

Here is how it was created.

Step 1  Using Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher cut 2 from white Soft Finish Cardstock which has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back.  Cut small star from same cardstock.  Place star on top of 1 pitcher then adhere second pitcher over first pitcher.  Using small ball tool rub around edges to outline star.  Using alcohol markers color pitcher (Copics E55 and E84 plus black to color star) color pitcher.  Lay face down into clear Versamark ink press in to cover coat with clear embossing powder then heat to set.

Step 2   Create 9 tulips using Garden Notes Tulip 2 die set cut from colored cardstock.

Step 3  Form 5″ X 7″ card base.  Cut patterned paper 4-3/4″ X 6-3/4″ (ModaScrap Wood Effect used here) adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Use couple of dimensional squares to lower center on back of pitcher adhere to card front.

Step 5  Arrange tulips into top of pitcher adhere using Kids Choice Glue.  You will need to cut some of stems off so they fit and you have different heights.

Step 6  Stamp sentiment on rectangle adhere to card front using dimensional squares.

Thank you for stopping by today I do hope you have enjoyed my card and it has inspired you.

Bat Whisperer 80th Birthday

Welcome my crafty friends I am here today with a card I created for a fellow employee celebrating his 80th birthday.  Through the years he has on several occasions helped round up a bat or two.

Card was created using Karen Burnison’s Spinner Square Pop Up die along with an old die of Karen’s from another company Midnight the Bat.  Karen has wonderful Youtube videos that really are great guidance to build your cards – this was a fun card to create.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Welcome my crafty friends so glad you stopped by.   Today I have a card that I created for a very special friend’s birthday using  Susan’s Garden Notes Nasturtium, Wooden Crate, Berry Branch along with ModaScrap Happy Frame.

Here is how I created card.

Step 1  Cut 4 Garden Notes Berry Branch from brown cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back adhere together so you have 2 stems.  Add shading using Distress Ink.  Add berries using Nuvo Crystal Drops – Violet Galaxy.  Set aside to dry – when dry repeat on back side and let dry.

Step 2  Form 6″ X 6″ card base.

Step 3  Create 6″ X 6″ Happy Frame from cardstock of your choice – ModaScrap – Wood Effects used here.  Els has tutorial for creating frame which can be found here.

Step 4  Chose a background the one here was done on 5-3/4″ square white Soft Finish Cardstock using Distress Oxide Inks.  Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive next adhere frame to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 5  Using Garden Notes Nasturtium die cut a bunch of flowers from white Soft Finish Cardstock cut stamen from yellow cardstock and leaves from green cardstock.  Using alcohol markers color flowers shade leaves using Distress Ink. Using Garden Notes 4 pc. Metal Tool Kit, Molding Mat and Leaf Mat shape flowers and leaves assemble using Kids Choice Glue.  Susan has a video which you can find here

Step 6  Cut 2 Garden Notes Wooden Crate 1 from Wood Effects cardstock and 1 from either black or brown cardstock both with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Adhere Wood Effects on top of solid.  Depending on color of background you will want to put a little something behind crate so background doesn’t show through.  Moss ribbon was used on this card.  Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive to adhere to card front.

Step 7  Add nasturtiums and berry branches to crate using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 8  Using Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words Happy Birthday – small cut 2 from black cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back stack together add to card front.
