Welcome my crafty friends,

Today I have for you an arrow fold card that I created.  The card design is not mine I found it on YouTube it is by Sam Calcott of the UK.

Card base was created following Sam’s YouTube video found here

I kept the flowers simple because of pattern paper being busy. Using Susan’s Garden Notes Love In The Mist I created 3 white flowers and several leaves attaching with Kids Choice Glue.

Sentiment was stamped with black ink on white cardstock then matted in green cardstock.  Another sentiment was stamped inside of card.

Hope you enjoyed this card and has inspired you to create your own Arrow Fold card they are really quick and fun to do.

Remember Susan has a brand new release coming out 1st of September with Spellbinders so stay tuned you will love them!

Thank you for stopping by today and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Family Birthday Cards

Welcome my crafty friends!

Today I have a couple birthday cards I did for our grandson and my hubby.  Our grandson and hubby share their birthday – grandson was best birthday gift ever.

Our grandson turned 18 and he loves to fish he has a boat and fishes when he is not working.  Hubby turned 79 and loves his John Deere tractor.

Cards are both 6″ X 6″ and I used a combination of dies and Cricut to make my cards.

The pop up mechanism was same for both it was an old die set of Karen Burniston when she was with Elizabeth Craft Designs – Bathtub Pop Up.  Another time I would reshape the bathtub into a boat but I had already hand cut the boat then went looking for a die set that had a pop up mechanism to use kind of like putting the cart before the horse.

KB Riley  1003  Word 2 Birthday, 1031 Numbers and 1049 Camping Charms  were used.  The fisherman, fish and the silhouette of boat and fisherman were cut on Cricut.  Hooked On Fishing was  cut from a top strip of design paper from my stash as was the grass and water paper.

For Hubby’s card I had no idea what I was going to do for him as he really doesn’t have any hobbies such as golfing or anything.  A dear friend asked about tractors or lawn mower then I remembered years ago I had bought scrapbooking set of John Deere paper and stickers thinking I would do some scrapbook pages so I went looking and found the packet and went from there.  As I said the same pop up mechanism from Karen Burniston Pop Up Bathtub.

The tractor was cut from Cricut then used stickers from paper set to decorate it up.  KB Riley 1100 Howdy, 1003 Word 2 Birthday and 1031 Numbers were also used.

They both loved their cards although our son said there was a mistake on Adam’s card when I asked what he said it has a fish I should have just had a hook – apparently he doesn’t catch many fish.

Thanks for stopping by today hope you enjoyed my cards – I will be back to making my flowers which I love making.

Susan Tierney-Cockburn has a new release coming out with Spellbinders and I can’t wait to get my dies and start making some flowers.   I am excited and feel honored that she wants me on her design team.

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Daisy & Chicory Envelope Card

IMG_0245

Hello my crafty friends welcome to my blog.

Today I have an envelope card that I created and decorated with Susan’s Garden Note Daisies, Ferns, Chicory (created from Susan’s Garden Notes Aster die set) and Jasmine.

Susan did the envelope card a couple of weeks ago on her Garden Club Live found here.  Another good video for making the envelope card is by Sam Calcott it can be found on YouTube here.

From white soft finish cardstock created envelope and card base.  Used pattern paper to decorate envelope.  (An old Close to My Heart Paper used here)  I stamped  quote in black then used some little blotchy stamps with black ink to decorate inside of my card.  Close to My Heart stamp set – A Million Little Things was used.

Created 4 Susan’s Garden Notes Daisies, 6 asters (cut from blue cardstock), some Jasmine and ferns – Ladder and Maidenhair.  A few small branches were tucked in arrangement.

To create the chicory I cut off the very ends of the asters then with small sharp scissors cut into ends to give them a fringe.  The stems from the Forsythia die set were cut from green cardstock and asters added.

Using the smaller 3 dies from Spellbinder Candlewick Rectangles I created place for sentiment.  from black cardstock using the two larger dies I cut decorative base for sentiment then from white cardstock cut smallest.  Stamped sentiment with black ink using another Close to My Heart stamp set – Australian Thanks which is an old set.  Adhered sentiment to black decorative base then using dimensional tape adhered to card front.

Hope this has inspired you to create – have fun!
