Diamond Window Survivor Card
Hello my crafty friends!
Wow October already where has summer gone! As we all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - GO GET THOSE MAMMOGRAMS!!! Each October I do a few survivor cards to send to breast cancer survivor people. What better day to start this year but on World Card Day! I started this a few years ago with a dear friend and classmate (graduated in 1968). Over the years I went through my classmates that had survived it and added friends and acquaintances. This makes me happy and I believe that it makes the receiver happy letting them know that just because they survived their journey isn't forgotten.
My first card this year is a Diamond Window Card (I did a Christmas one a few weeks ago but it was larger 8"X 8"). I chose to do 6" X 6" so it would fit into my acrylic boxes which works just have less area for flowers.
Here is a link for video I used to create my card just remember hers is 8" X 8" Find link here
My card is done in plain white cardstock and outer piece was embossed using a swiss dot embossing folder.
The window can be cut in any shape but I just love the diamond. She does it with hexagon. Spellbinders S5-525 Essential Diamonds Etched Dies (from the Glimmer Greetings Collection).
Spellbinders Susan's Garden S4-1078 Oriental Poppy from Autumn Flora Collection video for creating can be found here
Spellbinders Susan's Garden S4-1086 Ferns & Ivy from Spring Flora collection was used for my ferns.
Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles was used for sentiment.
Sentiment is from Ellen Hutson Essentials by Ellen Breast Cancer Research Foundation Stamp Set which was a fundraiser a few years ago so not sure if still available but you could print from computer.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have been inspired.
Until next time - Happy Crafting and DON'T FORGET THE MAMMOGRAM!!!
