Life is Tough

Hello my crafty friends!

Todays card was created for a dear friend that is fighting a battle with Cancer.  I am hoping it will brighten her day a little.

My card is a slimline 4" X 9" and adorned with a Susan's Garden Azalea & Garden Pot from her Botanical Garden Release.  The Sentiments are from Essentials by Ellen - Ellen Hutson Courage Stamp & Die Set.  Spellbinders Diagonal Stripes Slimline Embossing Folder was used for the white mat.

White 110# cardstock was cut 8" X 9" then scored at 4" folded in half.  Designer paper (P13 Forest Tea Party P13-FOR-03 was used) cut 3-3/4" X 8-3/4" adhered to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  White layer was cut 3" X 8" then embossed (Spellbinders SES-024 Diagonal Stripes Slimline used here).

Using Susan's Garden Azalea & Garden Pot S5-636 from the Botanical Garden Release flowers were cut from Susan's Garden Specialty Paper and the leaves and pot were cut from watercolor paper.  Flowers were colored using OLO Alcohol Markers OR2.0 & OR 2.2 the stamens were colored using YO-2.3.  Flowers were shaped using Susan's Deluxe Tool Kit   her YouTube video.  Video can be found here.

The Garden Pot was cut twice from watercolor paper then glued together using Kids Choice Glue.  Copic Alcohol Marker C-10 Cool Gray was used to color the Garden Pot.  I then I used Stamperia Mixed Media Art Cream Paste over the whole pot as I spread the past it took on the gray color and the look of stone/concrete.  I did make sure to keep edges around lips and saucer clean so has to still have dimension.  I bent it a little to give it the rounded shape and placed Dimensional Tape in center back of pot with Kids Choice Glue I went around the sides and bottom of edges only leaving top open.  Pot was then adhered to card front (I used some heavy magnets to hold in place for a few minutes to make sure it adhered well.

Once pot was adhered I added my leaves and flowers using Kids Choice Glue.

Sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and die cut using an oval from Stampendous Fran's Frames S6-218 it was inked around edges then attached using dimensional tape.  An additional sentiment was stamped inside card.

I do hope you have enjoyed my post and that you have been inspired to make your own card.  Making someone smile for a little while makes my heart happy.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time - Happy Creating!
