Potted Azalea Double Z Fold
Hello My Crafty Friends!
Been busy working on cards that have been ordered. My card today is a Double Z Fold adorned with Potted Azalea. I used Spellbinders Susan's Garden S5-636 Azalea & Garden Pot set from Botanical Garden Release.
My card is a 6" X 6". I looked for Double Z Fold cards on YouTube most were a different size but it is very easy to change size.
My card base was created using 110# white cardstock cut 6" X 12" scored at 3 and 6 - mountain fold on 3 score line and valley fold on 6 score line. The second piece of white cardstock was cut 5" X 9" scored again at 3" and 6" with Mountain fold at 3" and Valley Fold at 6". Lisa Curcio has a great YouTube video which is the one I used. You can find it here . I cut purple cardstock 1/4" smaller than each section then the patterned paper was cut 1/4" smaller than the colored cardstock. All adhered to card base using Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Note: I did not use pattern paper on the first 3" section I cut a diamond shape from white cardstock and adhered to that section using Clear Double Sided Adhesive. The white pieces of cardstock were cut 1/4" smaller that the patterned paper and sentiments were stamped using black in before adhering to card.
For the pot I cut 2 from white cardstock and a 3rd one from copper cardstock. I adhered all 3 together using Bearly Art Glue. I used a black marker to color edges then embossed using Creative Expressions EF3D-056 Honeycomb Trellis 3D Embossing Folder. I used sandpaper to dull the shine an sponged a little with brown ink. (Note: I did not use the rim and saucer pieces for this pot)
The foliage was cut from watercolor paper colored, shaped and then glazed and set aside to dry. Azaleas were cut from Spellbinders Susan's Garden Specialty Paper, colored with V2.6 & V2.7 OLO Markers and shaped using Susan's Garden Deluxe Tool Kit. Susan's YouTube video can be found here .
Kids Choice Glue was used to adhere pot to diamond shape on card front and to build the flowers.
I hope this has inspired you to make your own version of this card. This is one of my favorite cards to make for any occasion.
Thanks for stopping by and until next time - Happy Creating!
Christine
