Big Hugs
Hello My Crafty Friends!
Today I have a card of encouragement I created for a friend that is going through some serious stuff at the moment. Once again I have used Spellbinders Susan's Garden Landscape Rose from Botanical Garden Release along with Black Alder from Winter's Grace Release and Gingko from Victorian Garden. Hugs is from a die set by Suzanne Cannon called Sending Hugs Kisses.
My card is a 6" X 6" tent fold card created from white 110# cardstock. I cut a piece of black shimmery (hard to see in picture) 6" X 6" then cut a large oval in center. Next I cut a piece of green shimmery cardstock wide enough to cover the oval opening attaching to back of black piece using Bearly Art Glue. I used Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back and adhered to card front.
For the inside I made a small card from a file I bought off Etsy. I reduced it down printed on white cardstock and backed with a piece of black cardstock. I made a pocket by cutting a piece of patterned paper a little larger than the card allowing 1/4" on 3 sides. Scored at 1/4" on bottom and 2 sides added to Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the 3 areas and added to inside of card. The sentiment was something I printed from internet onto white cardstock and then matted with black cardstock and adhered to inside of card.
Using white cardstock I cut an oval smaller than the opening but large enough for the "Hugs" to fit on. Hugs was die cut from black cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back then adhered to the white oval. Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back the oval was attached to center of card.
Using Susan's Black Alder S4-1362 die from Winter's Grace Release I cut 2 small pieces from Water Color Paper then colored and shaped using Susan's Deluxe Tool Kit. Susan's video for Black Alder can be found here. I glazed the leaves with Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops and set aside to dry. When dry I added small Styrofoam balls that had been colored red using Kids Choice Glue. Gingko was cut from Susan's Specialty Cardstock and colored then shaped with Susan's Deluxe Tool Kit
Using Susan's Landscape Rose die S4-1079 from Botanical Garden I cut 3 roses from Susan's Specialty Paper colored and then shaped using Susan's Deluxe Tool Kit. Susan's YouTube video for creating the Landscape Rose can be found here.
Using Kids Choice Glue I built my arrangement on card front.
I sure hope this has been inspirational and that you make your own card for someone that may be going through some bad times.
Thanks for stopping by today and until next time - Happy Creating!
Christine
