Calla Lilies

Calla Lilies

Welcome my crafty friends,

Today my card features another new release of Susan’s Garden Note – the Calla Lily.  I am really loving this new release of Susan’s but I love all her releases.

Here is how I created my card.

Step 1  From green cardstock cut couple of branches using Garden Notes Hawthorne.  Add berries using Nuvo Crystal Drops set aside to dry then do back side.

Step 2  Form card base 5″ X 7″ from white Soft Finish Cardstock (I like to use the 110# for card base).

Step 3  The oval is a piece I had saved when I used the next to largest  Garden Notes Frame It – Oval ( never through those pieces away).  I used some Distress Oxide Inks to make a background on the oval.  Attach to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Create 3 lilies cutting from white Soft Finish Cardstock (90#) using Garden Notes Calla Lily.  Cut leaves from green cardstock.  Shape using Susan’s 4 pc. All Metal Tool Kit, Molding Mat and Leaf Mat.  Use Kids Choice Glue to build your flower.  (Susan will be doing a video on how very soon.)

Step 5  Stamp sentiment on card front using black ink.

Step 6  Using Kids Choice Glue adhere Hawthorne branches then add lilies and leaves.

Welcome My Crafty Friends,

Here in Maine it is still snowy and very cold I for one am dreaming of Spring and warmer days that bring spring flowers,  I see all these pictures of flowers on Facebook which has inspired my card today.   Here is my inspiration picture for my card.

Image may contain: flower and plant

Here is how I created my card.

Merry Christmas From Buster

Welcome my crafty friends,

Today I have another Spinner Square Pop Up card for you.  This card is so much fun I just can’t help myself.  Funny thing is I bought this Karen Burniston Die Set to make an altogether different card which I have not made yet as I have been having so much fun making these cards.  I believe that this is going to be one of those dies I will get my money’s worth out of it.  I did not do a tutorial as it would basically be same as the chicken card I previously posted.  Buster the dog is another old die of Karen Burniston’s which has been discontinued but I am sure you can find another dog die.  Hope you enjoy this card.

Thanks for stopping by today and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Cheepers the Chicken Birthday Card

cheepers the chickencheepers the chicken 2

Welcome My Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card that I did for our granddaughter’s birthday.  They have been raising chickens for a long time so I thought it would be fun to do a chicken card for her.

My card uses Karen Burniston’s Square Spinner Pop Up die set along with a couple of her discontinued dies Cheeper the Chicken and the Chicken Wire die.  Here is how I created the card.

Step 1  Form card base from white Soft Finish Cardstock 4-1/4″ X 5-1/2″

Step 2  Cut 3 pcs. of patterned paper 4″ X 5-1/4″ (ModaScrap – Wood Effects used here) .  Adhere 1 to card front ( NOTE: When and if you add patterned paper to the front you will need to run through machine several times with another piece of cardstock laid over it due to thickness) 1 to the right side inside card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  The third piece is to be adhered to left side just on left edge of card base so chicken wire can be added after cutting opening.

Step 3  Die cut Chicken Wire from silver cardstock (Karen’s die is discontinued but Darice and Spellbinders has similar dies).

Note:  Karen Burniston has assembly video for this die which you can find here

Step 4  Watch Karen’s video for how to cut window, create mechanism, etc.

Step 5  Die cut a chicken or any animal you wish (Karen Burniston’s Cheepers used here but is discontinued).  Add animal to large square inside card so it shows through window on front of card using Kids Choice Glue.  Little props were cut from more of Karen’s discontinued props such as hay, basket and eggs (sorry) but you can probably improvise.

Step 6  Add basket and eggs to spin out arm using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 7  Stamp sentiment on white cardstock with black ink.  Using dimensional squares add sentiment to card front.

Step 8  From black cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back die cut Happy Birthday using Karen Burniston’s Word Set 2 and cut numbers using Joset’s Blackboard Numbers.

I do hope you have enjoyed my little tutorial to day and that it has inspired you to make your own Spinner Square Pop Up card there are so many possibilities with this die set.

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Christine

Welcome my crafty friends!

Here is a little breath of spring as you know “Spring Always Comes” just not soon enough for some of us that are in the depths of very cold snowy winter.

Today I have for you a card I have created for my niece’s birthday.  I have used Susan’s Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher, Tulips 2 along with ModaScrap’s Wood Effect paper.

Here is how it was created.

Step 1  Using Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher cut 2 from white Soft Finish Cardstock which has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back.  Cut small star from same cardstock.  Place star on top of 1 pitcher then adhere second pitcher over first pitcher.  Using small ball tool rub around edges to outline star.  Using alcohol markers color pitcher (Copics E55 and E84 plus black to color star) color pitcher.  Lay face down into clear Versamark ink press in to cover coat with clear embossing powder then heat to set.

Step 2   Create 9 tulips using Garden Notes Tulip 2 die set cut from colored cardstock.

Step 3  Form 5″ X 7″ card base.  Cut patterned paper 4-3/4″ X 6-3/4″ (ModaScrap Wood Effect used here) adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Use couple of dimensional squares to lower center on back of pitcher adhere to card front.

Step 5  Arrange tulips into top of pitcher adhere using Kids Choice Glue.  You will need to cut some of stems off so they fit and you have different heights.

Step 6  Stamp sentiment on rectangle adhere to card front using dimensional squares.

Thank you for stopping by today I do hope you have enjoyed my card and it has inspired you.
