Daisy & Chicory Envelope Card

IMG_0245

Hello my crafty friends welcome to my blog.

Today I have an envelope card that I created and decorated with Susan’s Garden Note Daisies, Ferns, Chicory (created from Susan’s Garden Notes Aster die set) and Jasmine.

Susan did the envelope card a couple of weeks ago on her Garden Club Live found here.  Another good video for making the envelope card is by Sam Calcott it can be found on YouTube here.

From white soft finish cardstock created envelope and card base.  Used pattern paper to decorate envelope.  (An old Close to My Heart Paper used here)  I stamped  quote in black then used some little blotchy stamps with black ink to decorate inside of my card.  Close to My Heart stamp set – A Million Little Things was used.

Created 4 Susan’s Garden Notes Daisies, 6 asters (cut from blue cardstock), some Jasmine and ferns – Ladder and Maidenhair.  A few small branches were tucked in arrangement.

To create the chicory I cut off the very ends of the asters then with small sharp scissors cut into ends to give them a fringe.  The stems from the Forsythia die set were cut from green cardstock and asters added.

Using the smaller 3 dies from Spellbinder Candlewick Rectangles I created place for sentiment.  from black cardstock using the two larger dies I cut decorative base for sentiment then from white cardstock cut smallest.  Stamped sentiment with black ink using another Close to My Heart stamp set – Australian Thanks which is an old set.  Adhered sentiment to black decorative base then using dimensional tape adhered to card front.

Hope this has inspired you to create – have fun!

Deepest Condolences

Deepest Condolences

Welcome My Crafty Friends,

Well here in Maine we have had our 3 days of summer – yesterday morning there was a frost here and a few tomato plants were lost hopefully that is it for frosty weather until fall.

My daffodils have come and gone but these paper ones will last forever.  My card today was created using Susan’s Garden Notes Daffodil and Narcissus, Galvanized Bucket and Ladder Fern along with Spellbinders Shapeabilities – Contemporary Diamonds.

Card is 6 X 6 from white cardstock.  Black cardstock cut 5-3/4″ square attached to card front using clear double sided adhesive.  White cardstock cut 5-1/2″ square embossed then adhered to card front.

Spellbinders Contemporary Diamonds cut twice from cardstock with clear double sided adhesive once from black once from green.  Black outline piece adhered to left side of card front then green cut out pieces set into openings.

Susan’s Garden Notes Galvanized Bucket cut twice once from black cardstock with clear double sided adhesive on back.  Adhered 1 on top of other.    Texture paste was spread over bucket left to dry.  Fresh Copper Nuvo Embellishment Mousse spread over bucket and handle.  The very center of handle was cut 3 times from black cardstock then adhered to center.  Couple of pop dots adhered to back center of bucket then adhered to right side of card front leaving opening at top.  Adhere handle to bucket.

Several Garden Notes Ladder Ferns were cut from green cardstock shaded and shaped then adhered in bucket using Kids Choice Glue.

5 Daffodils were created using Susan’s Garden Notes Daffodil / Narcissus die set cut from white cardstock, colored with Copic Markers then shaped (Susan has great videos on her Facebook page Susan’s Garden Club).  Daffodils were adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Stamped sentiment on white cardstock matted it with black cardstock adhered to card front with dimensional tape.

Thanks for stopping by today hope that it was inspiring!

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Hello My Crafty Friends,

Sadly this week Corona 19 Virus took the life of a family member of one of our members of our online  paper garden club so members are making sympathy cards and posting them in our group – this is mine.

For my card I have used Susan’s Garden Notes Watering Can, Tulips, Forget Me Notes and Daffodil / Narcissus die sets as well as Frame It – Circles.

Card base is 6″ X 6″ created from green cardstock.  White cardstock was cut 5-3/4″ square then circle was cut in upper left corner.  Piece was then embossed.  Background piece was attached behind circle opening then piece was attached to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Watering Can was cut twice once from black cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back and once from decorative paper also with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back then adhered together.  Dimensional dots added to back in center then add to card front.

Flowers were all cut from White Soft Finish Cardstock 90# they were colored with Copic Alcohol Markers leaves cut from green cardstock.  flowers shaded and shaped then put together using Kids Choice Glue.  Arranged in opening of watering can when happy with arrangement adhered with Kids Choice Glue.

Stamped sentiment then matted with black cardstock added to card front using dimensional tape.

Hello My Crafty Friends,

Hope everyone is doing OK during these trying times.  If the Corona Virus isn’t bad enough we in Maine got slammed with a spring “Nor’Easter which left thousands of people without power over several days our home being one of them after 44 hrs without power it has been restored to us others are still waiting unfortunately – 2020 has been very interesting so far lets hope that it improves very soon.  Cudos to all the linemen and women out there helping to get power restored they work long hours in some difficult conditions.

Today I have a card for you which I created using Susan’s Garden Galvanized Bucket and her Garden Notes Tulip 2 dies along with a couple others.

Here is how I created it.

Step 1  Created 6″ X 6″ card base from green cardstock

Step 2  Cut white cardstock 5-3/4” square then embossed using an 8-1/2 X 11 woodgrain embossing folder.  Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 3  Cut Garden Notes Farmhouse Door from Wood print paper adhere to left side of card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Created a wreath by cutting circle from brown cardstock using any of Susan’s Garden Note Grapevine Wreaths cut 1.  Cut wreath apart.  Using Kids Choice Glue attach pieces around circle forming small wreath.  Attach a few Garden Notes Forsythia flowers to wreath with glue.  Attach to door using glue.

Step 5  Cut 2 Galvanized buckets from cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back attach one on top of other  then color and shade.  Remove protective paper from back add couple of dimensional dots lower center of bucket adhere to lower right of card front.

Step 6  cut, color and shape 7 Garden Notes Tulip 2 and leaves.  Using Kids Choice Glue add to bucket on card front.  Note most of these tulips were from colored cardstock only the dark ones were colored with Copic markers as I had them all cut, so if you don’t want to color colored cardstock works well.

I do hope that during these times my card has given you some hope and inspiration.

Step 1 form 6″ X 6″ card base ( tent fold or side fold whichever your preference).

Step 5 Cut, color and shape your flowers I have used Pom Pom Dahlia and using Susan’s Garden Notes Nasturtium, Woodland Leaves, Bougainvillea and Japanese Painted Fern die sets.  You can find the videos on Susan’s Facebook page Susan’s Garden Club (here is the link for the Bells of Ireland  https://www.facebook.com/SusansGardenClub/videos/201063344507415/

Using spatula add Nuvo Expanding Mousse – Worn Linen over stencil. Once scene is covered remove stencil either set aside to dry or heat set.

Step 3 Cut white cardstock 5″ X 7″. Using a rectangle die that fits card front and shows off your scene die cut. Emboss using dotted swiss embossing folder. Adhere over scene using Nuvo Adhesive Tape Runner. Using same tape runner adhere to front of 5″ X 7″ card base.

Wagon Full of Holly

Hello my crafty friends,

Wow Thanksgiving is next week and still need to get some Christmas cards done. Today my card is a simple card made using Susan’s Garden Club Holly & Berry dies set from Tonic Studios and a little red wagon that has been laying around on my desk for quite some time now waiting to be used. it was cut on the Cricut. The bricks were made using a stencil I have had for a long time and Nuvo Expanding Mousse – Worn Linen.

Step 1 cut several berry branches from brown cardstock. Using Nuvo Crystal Drops – Berry Red add berries to branches – set aside to dry. When berries are dry turn over and add berries to back side – let dry.

Step 2 cut a bunch of holly using Susan’s Garden Club Holly & Berries die set. I cut mine from green cardstock but Susan cuts her’s from white cardstock and colors with alcohol markers which I will try next time. Shade and shape leaves. Using Nuvo Crystal Glaze Paint all the leaves then set aside to dry. The glaze does dry quite fast.

Step 3 Cut colored cardstock (dark green used here) 4-3/4″ X 5-3/4″ . Using stencil and Nuvo Expanding Mousse with spatula spread over mousse over stencil onto green cardstock – lift stencil off use Heat Tool to dry mousse.

Step 4 Cut piece of patterned paper 5″ X 7″ Using a rectangle die cut opening. Adhere over the bricks using Nuvo Adhesive Tape. Add tape to back and adhere to 5 X 7 card front.

Step 5 Added Dimensional tabs to back of wagon adhered to card front at bottom of opening.

Step 6 Arrange Holly and Berries using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I did cut apart Holly and Berries before adding.

Step 7 Cut sentiment adhere to top of card.

Hope this has been an inspiration for you!!!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Tonic Studios for some great supplies. By clicking on any of the pictures below it will take you directly to their USA site.
