Encircled Coreopsis

Hello My Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card I created using some of Susan’s Autumn Flora Collection. I am using Coreopsis and Foliage along with Spellbinders APG Picot Petite Circles.

Card Base 6″ X 6″ tent fold

Colored cardstock cut 5-3/4″ X 5-3/4″ adhered to card front with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Using Nestabilites Standard Circles I cut 2 frames by taping 2 circle dies togetherand adhered together using Art Glitter Glue Dries Clear. From white cardstock I created another frame using Picot Petite die and Standard Circles which I adhered to the basic frames using glue. Added narrow dimensional strips to back then adhered to card front.

From green cardstock I cut 2 berry branches using the die from the Foliage die set (I like to cut twice to give stability) adhere one on top of other. Use green ink to shade. Added white berries using white Nuvo Drops. I like to do my berry branches in the very beginning so they have time to dry while I am creating the rest of the card. Susan has a YouTube video demo which you can find here I also cut 2 Nadena branches from green cardstock then shaded and shaped.

From white cardstock I cut 3 Coreopsis then used Copic markers to color. Susan has a YouTube video for the Coreopsis which can be found here

Using Kids Choice Glue I created my bouquet inside circle on card front. I first put down the Nadena cut Berry Branches apart added them next to Nadena, Coreopsis were added next (I did build right on card as Susan does) lastly I added the leaves.

Button Mums and Autumn Hydrangea

Welcome my crafty friends hope you are all staying safe.

Today I have a card I designed using Susan’s brand new release Autumn Flora Button Mums and Autumn Hydrangea through Spellbinders. Another fantastic release from Susan I just love working with her dies.

My card today is a 6″ X 6″ tent fold created from white cardstock.

Patterned paper from my stash was used for background cut 5-3/4″ X 5-3/4″ adhered to card front using clear double sided adhesive.

Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Circle was cut from white cardstock using largest die in set. Circled was adhered to card front using clear double sided adhesive.

Two Button Mums were cut from white cardstock then colored with Copic Markers then shaped and assembled. I used Susan’s old tools to shape my flowers but she has great new set coming out it should be available by January 2021.

Off white cardstock and Distress Oxide Inks were used to color florets. I picked 3 or 4 colors that I wanted in my hydrangea and smeared in various areas on the cardstock both front and back leaving areas here and there off white. Florets were then die cut from this paper several times (I would rather have left over than to run out) then shaped and assembled. Susan is doing YouTube videos for each die set in the release her hydrangea video is here

Foliage & Ladybug die set was used to make the Berry Branch and and Eucalyptus. I cut 2 Berry Branches from green cardstock adhere them together with Art Glitter Glue. Green ink was used to shade then Nuvo Drops Plum Pudding was used to make berries which I put on both sides so I add berries to one side set aside to dry then do the other side. I always do my berries branches first so they will have time to dry well. Lady bug was cut from white cardstock colored with red Copic Marker black head, dots added with fine point pen and shaped with medium ball stylus. Two Eucalyptus branches were cut from green cardstock shaded with green ink and a bit of rusty red PanPastels was added to base of leaves I then shaped the leaves using a ball stylus.

Beacons Kids Choice Glue was used to add everything to card front starting with Berry Branch, Eucalyptus, Hydrangea, Mums, leaves and of course the Ladybug.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today I do hope it has inspired you to create. Until next time Happy Crafting!

Birthday Poppies

Hello My Crafty Friends,

I know it has been a while since I have posted but I have been busy creating cards for Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s new release with Spellbinders. Spellbinders Garden Club – Autumn Flora. Her fall release has 7 new die sets plus a new “Autumn Quotes” stamp set. The release will be in the hands of retailers on the 10th.

Today Susan’s Design Team are beginning to post our creations using the new release. Stay tuned to see our creations. The other designers are Selma Stevenson and you can see her tutorials on her blog selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com and Karen Liddle’s tutorials on her blog cakescardsandcraftybits.blogspot.com

My card today is a birthday card that I created using the Oriental Poppy.

Here are the details

Step 1 Card base is 7- 1/2 X 5 tent fold created from black cardstock.

Step 2 Patterned paper was cut 7-1/4 X 5 attached to card front using clear double sided adhesive.

Step 3 Using Spellbinders Die of the Month – March 2019 Amazing Grace Paper Designer Die cut 1 from black cardstock. (I taped all pieces together to cut) I used liquid glue with fine tip to apply glue to back and attach to card front.

Step 4 Happy Birthday was cut from coordinating color cardstock with clear double sided adhesive on back using Spellbinders S2-082 Sentiment 1 die set. Attach to center of card front.

Step 5 From white cardstock using Autumn Flora – Oriental Poppy die set cut 3 poppies (the new dies have a number on dies pieces to tell you haw many of each to cut for a flower which is fantastic). Using alcohol markers in colors of your choice color petals (I used Copic YR02 and YR82) 2 little sun shapes were cut from black cardstock and little circles cut from green. Poppies were shaped and assembled. You will be able to watch Susan’s videos on YouTube soon for all her flowers in this release.

Step 6 From green cardstock cut 2 foliages pieces from Autumn Flora Foliage & Lady Bug die set. While cutting the green cardstock you can cut the leaves for the poppies from same cardstock. Shade and shape. I cut a few of the tiny flowers in the foliage set from white cardstock and used a green fine tip marker to make dot in center then shape. Added flowers to foliage using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 7 Using Kids Choice Glue attach foliage to card front then add poppies and their leaves.

Hope you have enjoyed my post and stay tuned for more to come. Be sure to visit the other designers blogs to see their wonderful creations I can tell you they will wow you.

Hydrangeas in Tub

IMG_0284

Welcome my crafty friends,

Hope that you are all doing well.  Summer seems to be zipping right along I do wish it would slow down a little as here in Maine Winter sure is long.

Last week on Facebook I re-posted a picture of several bathtubs with different plantings so I decided to create a card with a bathtub of flowers.  I had some flowers left from the last card along with one of the backgrounds I recently created so that is what I have used.

Card base is 6″ X 6″ edged with Distress Oxide Antique Linen ink.

Background piece was created using 6″ square black cardstock then used a few Distress Oxide Sprays.  Edges were torn then inked with Distress Oxide Antique Linen.  Adhered to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

5″ square white Soft Finish Cardstock  was cut using 2 largest dies from Spellbinders Candlewick Squares taped together.  Square was attached to card front using dimensional tape.

Bathtub  (an old Karen Burniston die set from when she was with Elizabeth Craft Designs) was cut from white Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back ( I cut 2) adhered one on top of other.  I rubbed  clear VersaMark over bathtub lightly trying not to completely cover then clear embossing powder was poured on then tapped off heated with heat gun.  Then I did some shading using inks to give an aged look.  Couple pieces of dimensional tape was adhered to center back of tub then adhered to card front.

Garden Notes Hydrangea 2, Baby’s Breath, Ostrich Fern and Ivy Vine were used to fill the tub using Kids Choice Glue to attach.

Hope you are inspired to go create a card – think outside the box look at your dies see what you might have that can be a vessel to hold your flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Hydrangea Shutter Peekaboo Card

IMG_0281

IMG_0276

Hello my crafty friends,

My card today is a Shutter Peekaboo card that I created.  Last week on Susan’s Garden Club Live Susan did one of these cards so I had to try one.   I made one years ago way before I was making Susan’s flowers boy they really dress this card up.  I had an inspiration picture in mind when I did the flowers so decided to combine the card with my inspiration.

this was my inspiration for the flowers:

116698025_198710858263100_271322672955077977_o

Finished card is 5″ X 7″

Susan did a video for creating card which can be found here

The patterned paper I used was an old Close to My Heart – Laughing Lola.

For the flowers I used white Soft Finish Cardstock colored it with Distress Oxide Inks then cut flowers.  Flowers were shaped using Susan’s tools and molding mats then built.

Sentiment in the peekaboo is a Close to My Heart stamp.

Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words Happy Birthday was used cut from cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back – once from black and once from white.  I adhered the black first then white offsetting a little to give a little shadow.

This card is really a fun card just need to take your time and go step by step.

Hope that it is an inspiration for you to make your own Shutter Peekaboo card.

Thanks for stopping by today and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Friendship Hydrangeas

IMG_0266

Hello My Crafty Friends!

Hope that everyone is enjoying their summer at least to the best of your abilities during these trying times.

Today I have a card I for a friend that has just had hip surgery so will be going to visit her soon.  I (re)created using a technique called Black Magic for background and an arrangement that Susan did a couple of weeks ago.

Card is a 6″ X 6″ created from white Soft Finish Cardstock 110#

6″ X 6″ Black cardstock using Distress Oxide Inks (I used 3 color Sprays) create background.  Tear around the edges and use Distress Ink to ink edges (Antique Linen used here).  Video for Black Magic backgrounds can be found at end of video found here

Hydrangeas were something I had already created so not sure what colors or techniques that I used.  A couple of ferns were laid down first (but they really don’t show so not needed) added my hydrangeas and leaves using Kids Choice Glue.  Placed them so that there would be room for sentiment.

Stamped sentiment in black ink on white cardstock tore edges then inked with the Distress Ink Antique Linen used dimensional dots to adhere to card front.

Hope this is an inspiration for you and you will go play!

Thanks for stopping by and until next time – Happy crafting!

Remember Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s new release with Spellbinders is just a month away – you will love it!  I am so proud that she selected me to be on her Design Team I started on her team with Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Arrow Fold Condolence Card

IMG_0258

IMG_0265

Welcome my crafty friends,

Today I have for you an arrow fold card that I created.  The card design is not mine I found it on YouTube it is by Sam Calcott of the UK.

Card base was created following Sam’s YouTube video found here

I kept the flowers simple because of pattern paper being busy. Using Susan’s Garden Notes Love In The Mist I created 3 white flowers and several leaves attaching with Kids Choice Glue.

Sentiment was stamped with black ink on white cardstock then matted in green cardstock.  Another sentiment was stamped inside of card.

Hope you enjoyed this card and has inspired you to create your own Arrow Fold card they are really quick and fun to do.

Remember Susan has a brand new release coming out 1st of September with Spellbinders so stay tuned you will love them!

Thank you for stopping by today and until next time – Happy Crafting!
