Basket of Holly and Berries

Basket of Holly & BerriesIMG_6941

Welcome my crafty friends,

Here today with another card I have had down for a while so not a lot of detail.

Susan dies are available on Create & Craft for 1st 30 days then will be available from Tonic Studios so be patient they are coming.

Today I have used Susan’s Garden Gathering Basket (love that the die set comes with both the metal tub and the basket) along with her Holly and Berries.

Another 6″ X 6″ card base from colored cardstock.  White cardstock cut 5-1/2″ square then embossed.

Basket cut from white cardstock twice adhere on top of each other then colored with alcohol markers adhered to card front.

Made a bunch of Holly leaves and Berry Branches.  When berries are involved that is always my first step so that they will have time to dry completely while I am doing everything else.  Berries were done using Autumn Red Nuvo Drops on both sides as Susan does.  Holly cut from green cardstock then shaped and glazed.  Added to basket using Nuvo Dexluxe Adhesive.

Suzanne Cannon’s Merry Christmas was cut from black glitter paper and adhered to upper left corner of card front.

Tonic Studio Products are linked below.

Thank you once again for taking the time to stop by my blog and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Tub of Spider Mums

Tub of Spider Mums

Welcome my crafty friends,

Susan’s new dies are so much fun.  Several of my cards have been done for a while hence I do not have all the particulars that I did as I was having so much fun playing with the dies I forgot to write info down.  Going forward I will try to do better but I get playing and get lost in what I am doing.

Today my card uses Susan’s Garden Spider Mum, Tub and Japanese Painted FernSusan is now with Tonic Studios and boy do they have lots of wonderful product.

The Tonic 6″ X 6″ white card base is used then colored cardstock cut 5-3/4″ square added to card front.  From white 5-1/2″ square cardstock a circle was cut in upper left of the piece.  You can use any background behind the circle but what I have used was an actual picture printed on white cardstock of my little building (which we call the basket shop as I use to make baskets there).

My tub was cut twice adhered together then colored with Copic markers and metallic rubs then adhered to card front.

Cut couple Japanese Spider Ferns color and shape.  Add to tub using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Cut several Spider Mums (cut a few extra pieces of the smaller petals to make buds) color as desired using alcohol markers.

Arrange flowers in Tub use Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to adhere in place.

Another card that can be used for many occasions I do hope you have enjoyed it.

Tonic Studios products are linked below.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by.  Until next time – Happy crafting!

Columbine on Stained Glass

columbineonstainedglass

Welcome my crafty friends,

Another card using Susan’s new release with Tonic.  Today I have featured the Columbine and one of my favorite perennials these are 2 of the colors I have.

Tonic’s 6″ X6″ white card base layered with green cardstock 5 – 3/4″ square.  White cardstock cut 5-1/2″ square the upper corner was cut using a die from my stash and bottom edge was cut with old Martha Stewart Punch.  Before adding to card front I cut a piece of white cardstock that was a little bit larger than the stained glass cut out.  Distress Oxide Sprays were used to color background then attached behind the cutout.  Add to card front.

Using the new Susan’s Garden Columbine die 5 flowers were cut from white cardstock then colored with Copic Markers.  They were shaped and put together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. From green cardstock Japanese Painted Ferns were cut, color, shape adhere to right side of card front.  Add some berries (mine are old berry branches I had already made) add flowers.

This card could be used for any occasion just add sentiment of your choice.

Link to Tonic Studios products are added below.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by I do hope you enjoyed my card.

Tonic has so many great products to work with.

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Diamond Survivor

Diamond Survivor

Hello my crafty friends,

It has been a couple months since I last posted time has flown by.

As a lot of you know Susan Tierney Cockburn has joined Tonic Studios and yesterday they had a launch of her 1st release of her beautiful flower dies  under the Tonic Studios Logo on Create & Craft.   I am so excited to once again be a member of Susan’s Design Team I feel honored to represent her.

My post today features a few of those dies.

As you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and so my card was designed for a friend that is a breast cancer survivor.

My card is 6″ X 6″ I used Tonic’s card base.

Embellishment Mousse (Spring Green) was used along with their Stencil Twisting Circles to create background in center.

Pink cardstock was cut 5-3/4″ square and Diamond was cut in center.  Next white cardstock was cut 5-1/2 square and Diamond was cut in center of it using next larger size.  These were layered over the background on card front.

Japanese Painted Fern was cut from green cardstock Copic E09 was used to color stems and white PanPastels was used to give it the dusty look.  Using tweezers pinch up on fronds.  Using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive adhere ferns to right side of diamond opening.

Beauty Berry Bush die was cut from green cardstock berries added by using Nuvo Crystal Drops Autumn Red.  These were added over ferns using adhesive.

Using the Helleborus die cut out 3 flowers from white cardstock colored with Copic Marker, shaped and put together.  Add to the berries and ferns.

Stamped sentiment on white cardstock then layered onto pink cardstock.  Dimensional tape was used to attach.

While Susan is in UK she is filming YouTube videos on creating these beautiful flowers.

Eventually I will try to get back to typing tutorials for my cards but at this time I will just try to get cards posted.

I do hope that you have enjoyed my creation today and hope that you will check back often to see other creations.

Below I have linked products used if you click on a picture it will take you to their site where you can purchase.

Unfortunately Susan’s dies are only available from Create & Craft for the next 30 days then they will be available from Tonic.

Thanks for stopping by today and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Courage for Dawnie

Courage for Dawnie

Welcome to my blog my crafty friends!

My card today is for a friend that is going through breast cancer treatment.  My inspiration was a picture that I had seen on Facebook that just “spoke to me”.  This is the picture

thumbnail

Here is how I created it.

Step 1  Create a 6″ X 6″ card base from 110# white Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 2  Cut black glitter paper 5-3/4″ X 5-3/4″ Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 3  I downloaded picture to my computer then printed copy on 90# white Soft Finish Cardstock then cut to 5-1/2″ square.  Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4 Die cut Garden Notes Dahlia from white 90# Soft Finish Cardstock.  Color with alcohol markers (I matched up the color as flower in picture was just a bit larger than the one I created so I needed it to blend).  Shape your pieces then build flower on card front using Kids Choice Glue.  Create a couple of leaves add to flower using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 5  Create Lady bug adhere to leaf.

Step  6  Using Suzanne Cannon’s A With Words – Courage 1 fro white Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back and 1 from black glitter paper with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Adhere white to card front then adhere black over white offsetting just a little.

Step 7  Stamp sentiment of your choice inside.

Sympathy Cards

Esther's Sympathy

Brenda's Sympathy

Cindy's Sympathy

Welcome my crafty friends!

Just a quick post today.  Today I have 3 sympathy cards I created using some of Susan’s Garden Notes dies.  I have not done tutorials but they are very simple to do.  Because sympathy cards are usually not a planned thing it helps if you have a few flowers ahead so a card can be created in a timely manner.  These cards all have the Garden Notes Love In A Mist which I love to make.

Card 1 has a background paper that I made myself by printing off a picture I had taken of old wallpaper.

Card 2  the colorful oval was done with coffee filter and powder water colors.

Card 3  the colorful image was done using Distress Oxide Inks.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time – Happy Crafting!
