Easter Bunny Cards

Welcome my crafty friends!

Easter is upon us and with some great dies in the last release I have been busy making Easter projects which I don’t normally.    The card below is the original one that I designed when dies were first released in January.

When I saw all the cute cards with the bunny bottom I just had to do some.

Wishing all of you a Happy Easter!

Welcome my crafty friends!

Today my post is of some Easter treat boxes I have made.  These treat boxes are fun and easy to make.  Using ModaScrap’s Triangle Box along with Joset’s Bunny and a few other dies. Susan’s Garden Notes Ostrich Fern die was used for the carrot top.    These little boxes can be used for so many occasions.

Carrot Boxes

Cut boxes from orange cardstock using ModaScrap Triangle Box.  Emboss using embossing folder of your choice.  Assemble using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Els did Technique Friday recently on triangle box you can see it here for assembly info).

Cut tops from green cardstock using Garden Notes Ostrich Fern (1 set for each box).  Using piercing tool poke hole in top lid put fern stems down through attach stems under lid using Kids Choice Glue.

Cut 1 bunny from white cardstock  using Joset’s Bunny die.  Color bunny color of your choice or leave white as I have done coloring just paw pads, nose and inside of ears.  Assemble using Kids Choice Glue.

Cut 1 carrot for each bunny assemble attach to bunny’s paw.  Attach to top of box using Kids Choice Glue.

Fill boxes with treats.

Easter egg tag boxes

Cut from colored cardstock of your choice.

Using white Soft Finish Cardstock sponge on colors of Distress Oxide Ink then die cut using Easter Egg die.  Cut overlay from white Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Attach overlay to top of egg.  Using small hole punch put hole in top of egg.  Using black ink stamp Happy Easter from Spring Sentiment Stamp Set.

I do hope you will make your own treat boxes they really are fun for any occasion.

You will find below a list of products used to make this project and by clicking on any of the pictures of Elizabeth Craft Designs products below it will take you directly to their site.

Here is how the card was created.

Step 1  Cut 2 Leafy Berry Branches from green cardstock.  Add berries using Nuvou Crystal Drops (Rhubarb Crumble used here) set aside to dry.  Wile cutting from green cardstock cut set of Garden Notes Ostrich Fern.

Step 2  Background made from black cardstock but also could be done on white cardstock.  You will be working with ECD Diamond Background die cut as stencil when finished making background save stencil to be used on another project.  Die cut 1 Diamond Background from cardstock lay on top of piece of black cardstock cut 3-3/4″ X 5″ hold in place with piece of low tack tape.  Using sponge apply Viva 3D paint in 3-4 different colors working paint down in being careful not to bend up stencil.  (You can also use Distress Oxide Inks they just will not be as bright or sparkly.)

Step 3  From 100# white Soft Finish Cardstock using ModaScrap Happy Frame cut 4 times. Trim 2 pieces to 5-1/4″ (trimming from straight end) trim 2 pieces to 3-7/8″ build frame.  Els just did a Technique Friday video on making Happy Frame XL it can be found here.

Step 4  Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive attach frame over background piece.

Step 5  Card base cut black cardstock 3-7/8″ x 10-1/2″ score at 5-1/4″ fold on score line.  Attach frame and background piece to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 6  Using ECD Corners 1 die set cut 4 corners from white Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back (I chose corners that had five dots which I saved and added back in) attach corners to frame.

Step 7  Cut 5 Primrose 1 from white Soft Finish Cardstock (or you can cut from colored cardstock and shade) color using Copic Markers YR15 and Y38 used here.  Shape using Susan’s Garden 4 pc Tool Kit and Molding Mat Susan has a video on her Facebook page Susan’s Garden Club found here.  Cut several leaves from cardstock either green cardstock or white cardstock coloring with Copics Markes YG97 and G85 used here.  Shape using leaf tool and leaf mat.

Step 8  Attach ferns and berry branches to card front using Kids Choice Glue build your primroses onto card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 9  Cut Happy Birthday twice once from black cardstock and once from white Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back attach white Happy Birthday on top of Black.  Attach to bottom of frame using Kids Choice Glue.  Note:  the die I used was an ECD Stand Up Helper Die that is no longer available which I discovered when preparing my tutorial I apologize but I did check out the new release of dies and #1465 Words 1- Celebration has a “happy birthday” die which is a bit longer but you could attach happy to the top of frame and birthday to bottom as well as #783 Happy Birthday and #1284 Happy Birthday.

Hope that this tutorial is an inspiration to you to try your own design.

My card today is a pop up card using several of Joset’s new releases Entwined Egg, Bunny, Spring Basket and Words 3 Happy Holidays along with a few other die sets.
Here is how it was created.
Step 1  Cut 1 Garden Notes Leafy Berry Branch from green cardstock.  Lay right side down onto Molding Mat with medium ball tool from Susan’s Tool Kit rub each leaf turn over and rub lightly down stem.  Add berries using Nuvo Crystal Drops set aside to dry.
Step 2  Card Base – Cut white Soft Finish Cardstock  4-1/4″ X 11″ score at 5-1/2″.
Step 3  Card Insert – cut white Soft Finish Cardstock 4″ X 10-3/4″ score at 5-3/8″.   Using blue Distress Ink and Susan’s Garden Stencil Earth & Sky make the clouds/ sky on top half of card insert.  Cut grass patterned paper 4″ X  6-1/4″ (my paper was cut at 5-1/2″ but would do it at 6-1/4″ next time)  using fancy cut scissors cut across giving it a grassy look.  Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive adhere to lower portion of card insert.  Fold on score line again to give good crease.  Using Elizabeth craft Designs General Pop Ups die set cut a pop stand in center ( I used the 1″ one).  Attach insert to inside of card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive making sure to avoid the area of the pop up.
Step 4  From brown cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back cut basket using new Spring Basket die set.  Cut second basket from brown cardstock without adhesive on it.  Adhere together giving it a bit of strength.  Using brown Distress Ink give basket some shading.  Lay right side down on Molding Mat using large ball tool rub back of basket  giving a bit of dimension.  Attach to pop up inside card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
Step 5  From Spring Basket die set cut 5 large eggs from white Soft Finish Cardstock.  Color using Copic Markers using several colors.  Cut 5 piece of basket grass from green cardstock.  Use Distress Ink to shade.  Arrange eggs and grass in basket adhere using Kids Choice Glue.
Step 6  From white Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back cut happy easter using Joset’s Words 3 Happy Holidays die set.  Attach to inside of card.
Step 7  Cut patterned paper 4-1/4″ X 5-1/2″ adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive (ModaScrap Fly & Scrap used here).
Step 8  Cut 1 Entwined Egg from brown cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Adhere to front of card.  Cut a second egg from white Soft Finish Cardstock save the Entwined Egg for another project take the center piece and using Susan’s Garden Earth & Sky Stencil make sky / clouds using blue Distress Ink.  Adhere that in center of egg on card front.
Step 9  Cut Joset’s new Bunny from white Soft Finish Cardstock color using pink Copic Marker.  Lay head, body and ears right side down on Molding Mat rub with ball tool to give dimension.  Assemble using Kids Choice Glue.  When attaching arms just attach at top leave lower portion of arms free so he can hold flower.  Add pop dots on back of head and body add Kids Choice Glue to just very edge of bottom of bunny adhere to bottom of egg.
Step 10  Create 1 tulip from colored cardstock using Garden Notes Tulip.  Susan has a YouTube video to help you can find it here.  Cut large leaf from stem add small leaf cut stem to fit card.  Attach to bunny using Kids Choice Glue.
Step 11  Cut little flowers from white Soft Finish Cardstock color centers with yellow Copics.
Step 12  Cut piece off Leafy Berry Branch attach to upper right of egg using Kids Choice Glue.  Add little white flowers.
