Bucket of Tulips

Bucket of Tulips

Hello My Crafty Friends,

Hope everyone is doing OK during these trying times.  If the Corona Virus isn’t bad enough we in Maine got slammed with a spring “Nor’Easter which left thousands of people without power over several days our home being one of them after 44 hrs without power it has been restored to us others are still waiting unfortunately – 2020 has been very interesting so far lets hope that it improves very soon.  Cudos to all the linemen and women out there helping to get power restored they work long hours in some difficult conditions.

Today I have a card for you which I created using Susan’s Garden Galvanized Bucket and her Garden Notes Tulip 2 dies along with a couple others.

Here is how I created it.

Step 1  Created 6″ X 6″ card base from green cardstock

Step 2  Cut white cardstock 5-3/4” square then embossed using an 8-1/2 X 11 woodgrain embossing folder.  Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 3  Cut Garden Notes Farmhouse Door from Wood print paper adhere to left side of card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Created a wreath by cutting circle from brown cardstock using any of Susan’s Garden Note Grapevine Wreaths cut 1.  Cut wreath apart.  Using Kids Choice Glue attach pieces around circle forming small wreath.  Attach a few Garden Notes Forsythia flowers to wreath with glue.  Attach to door using glue.

Step 5  Cut 2 Galvanized buckets from cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back attach one on top of other  then color and shade.  Remove protective paper from back add couple of dimensional dots lower center of bucket adhere to lower right of card front.

Step 6  cut, color and shape 7 Garden Notes Tulip 2 and leaves.  Using Kids Choice Glue add to bucket on card front.  Note most of these tulips were from colored cardstock only the dark ones were colored with Copic markers as I had them all cut, so if you don’t want to color colored cardstock works well.

I do hope that during these times my card has given you some hope and inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Hello my crafting friends, welcome to my blog!

Today I have a card I created for a dear friend that has been my friend since childhood. Our birthdays are a week apart and we have been exchanging birthday cards for many years.

My card was created using Susan’s Garden Club Helleborous, Japanese Painted Fern, Galvanized Bucket, Tonic Studios – Patterned Panels – Deco Diamonds and Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

Step 1 Using Craft Perfect Watercolor Paper and Nuvo Shimmer Powders in colors of your choice sprinkle powders onto watercolor paper lightly spritz with water continue until you like the results. Set aside to air dry. Cut to size of diamond panel.

Step 2 From white cardstock die cut 1 Deco Diamond Panel.

Step 3 Cut 1 piece of white cardstock 4-3/4″ X 6-3/4″ then using a rectangle die just a little smaller than the diamond panel cut rectangle in upper portion of cardstock.

Step 4 Using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive attach panel over the colored piece then center behind rectangle opening and adhere.

Step 5 die cut Galvanized Bucket mine is cut from Tim Holtz grungeboard which has coloring of my antique galvanized buckets. Used gray and white ink for a bit of shading. Add Craft Perfect Dimensional Squares to center back of bucket and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive around outer edges then adhere to bottom of diamond panel hold in place until adhesives adhere.

Step 6 Die cut Japanese Painted Fern from green cardstock add coloring using Magenta PanPastels. Adhere to card front in bucket.

Step 7 Cut 5 Susan’s Garden Club Helleborous from white cardstock using alcohol markers in colors of your choice color/shade and shape. I punched small stars from green cardstock and built my flowers on them. Arrange in bucket once satisfied with arrangement adhere using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Add leaves that have been cut from green cardstock then shaded and shaped. Add Lady Bug

Step 8 Die cut Happy from black cardstock (Suzanne Cannon’s Happy Birthday 3 die set was used here). Die cut #’s from black cardstock. Adhere to card front.

ECD Design Team Focus on New Release – Susan’s Garden

Today members of ECD Design Team are doing another focus day and today it is for Susan’s Garden’s new release which consists of 8 dies.  You are going to love them!

For my card today I have chosen to use 3 of the new release Galvanized Bucket, Forsythia and Frosty Fern.  Sentiment is from Joset’s Words 1 – Celebration set.

Be sure to visit Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to see what other team members have created with this new release for Susan’s Garden.

Here is how I created my card.

Step 1  Using 3 Distress Oxide Reinkers (Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick used here) put 3 drops of of peeled paint, 3 drops of fossilized amber and 1 drop of worn lipstick onto non stick craft mat spritz with water take 5″ X 8-1/4″ white Soft Finish Cardstock spritz with water then tap into ink lift and tap again drying in between continue until piece is covered and to your liking.  Cut to 5″ X 7″ taking remaining piece add Clear Double Sided Adhesive to back die cut “happy birthday” then cut again from black cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back place colored piece on top of black.

Step 2  Cut 5-6 pieces of Garden Notes – Frosty Fern from green cardstock.  Using white Nuvo Drops add a little to each tip of fern Do Not do berries you want the white flat.  Set aside to dry.  Pinch up on fronds to give dimension.

Step 3  Using Garden Notes Forsythia die cut flowers from yellow cardstock, stems from brown and leaves from green.  I cut 2 plates of flowers for each stem I cut 4 sets of stems (2 stems per set)  Using green Copic marker add dot to center of each flower lay right side down on molding mat use small loop tool from Susan’s Garden 4 pc. All Metal Tool Kit shape each petal by pulling tool from tip to center of each petal.  Turn over use medium ball tool from tool kit push into center to cup.  Using Kids Choice Glue add flowers to stems.  Shape and shade leaves add to stems.

Step 4  Using Garden Notes – Galvanized Bucket die set cut 2 buckets and handles from gray cardstock 1 with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back adhere 1 to other same with handle.  Cut 2 of wooden grip from light brown cardstock.  To do galvanizing see Susan’s video on her Facebook page Susan’s Garden Club found here.  I got a little heavy with black marker so it looks more cast iron then it does galvanized.

Step 5  Form 5″ X 7″ card base from white Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 6  Cut white Soft Finish Cardstock 5″ X 7″ using largest Fitted Rectangle die set cut opening placing die approximately 1″ from bottom.

Step 7  Build your card.  Adhere background piece to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Adhere piece with opening to front of card.  Take bucket pinch sides with fingers to give a little curve add a couple pieces of dimensional tape in center add Kids Choice Glue around outer edge of bucket making sure not to glue top opening of bucket as you will want to put your stems down through that opening.  Add handle using Kids Choice Glue to adhere.  Arrange stems and ferns adhering with Kids Choice Glue.  Finally add happy birthday to bottom of card using Kids Choice Glue.
