70th Birthday Calla Lilies

70th Birthday Calla Lily

Welcome My Crafty Friends!

Wow it has been more than a month since my last post as we have had a lot going on. As we all know life does get in the way of our crafting sometimes but I am back now and it seems great.  I have really missed making cards but there was just no time.

My card today uses Susan’s Garden Notes Calla Lily, Cosmos, Ladder Fern and Stitched Rectangle Frame It along with Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Fishtail Banners.  My little background feature was done using Brusho Watercolor Powders and coffee filter.

Here is how I created my card.

Step 1  Create background piece using glossy photo paper, coffee filter and watercolor powders Susan has a video on her Facebook page Susan’s Garden Club found here

Step 2  Form 6″ X 6″ card base from 110# white Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 3  Cut white Soft Finish Cardstock 5-3/4″ square.   Using Garden Notes Frame It/Stitched Rectangles cut rectangle on right side using size of your choice.  Cut background piece slightly larger than opening attach to back of opening using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Attach to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  Create flowers and ferns.  The Calla Lilies were colored with Copic Marker RV 69, the 3 pink Cosmos were colored using Copic  RV10 and RV17.  First I stamped a few extra ferns using green ink and a stamp I had made using Ladder Fern die to cut 3 sets of ladder ferns stacking to maker thicker.  Die cut 3 or 4 ferns from green cardstock using Garden Notes Ladder Fern shade with green ink adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.  Color and shape 3 Garden Notes Calla Lilies (the link above for background also includes tutorial for lilies and cosmos) add to card front along with 3 pink Garden Notes Cosmos and 3 white.

Step 5  My sentiment was printed out onto white Soft Finish Cardstock then die cut using ECD Stitched Fishtail Banners and adhered using dimensional tape.

I do hope that you have enjoyed my quick tutorial today and it inspires you to create.  All Elizabeth Craft Designs supplies used are linked below just click on any picture and it will take you directly to their site.
