Valentine Pansies

Welcome all my crafty friends!

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and today I am posting a couple that I have created.  They are same card but I changed out the color of pansies a bit and used ferns.  These cards were created using Susan’s new releases Garden Notes Pansy 2 and Leafy Berry Branch 1 along with a couple of her ferns from last release. The hearts are from Becky Seddon’s new releases Heartfelt Love and Love Struck.

Here is how the card was created.

Step 1 Cut 1 Garden Notes Berry Branch 1 from green cardstock.  Using Nuvo Crystal Drops add berries let dry.  Repeat on back side and let dry.

Step 2  Cut white cardstock 6″ X 12″ score at 6″ fold on score line – 6″ X 6″ card base formed.  Dry emboss front of card.

Step 3  Cut large solid heart from red cardstock using Becky Seddon’s Heartfelt Love die set.  Attach to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4  From white Soft Finish Cardstock cut lacy heart using Becky Seddon’s Love Struck die set.  Attach to front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive only on back of solid part of heart (leave lace edge free)

Step 5  From gold cardstock cut the 2 piece arrow from Love Struck die set attach using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 6  Cut 1 set of ferns from green cardstock using fern die set of choice.  Shade a little with Distress Ink and bend up fronds to give dimension.  Attach to card front with Kids Choice Glue added to just stem area.  Add Leafy Berry Branch in same manner arranging over ferns.

Step 7  Cut, color and shape 3 Garden Notes Pansy 2 and several leaves using white Soft Finish Cardstock.  Susan has a video on her Facebook page showing how to do pansies you can find it here which is dated January 27th.  Attach to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 8    Cut red cardstock 2-3/4″ X 1-1/4″ .  Cut white Soft Finish Cardstock 2-1/2″ X 1″ attach to red cardstock.  Using black ink stamp Happy Valentine’s Day from Joset’s Love Sentiments onto white cardstock.  Attach to lower right corner of card front using dimensional tape.

I do hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today and will create some of your own valentines.  For any of the Elizabeth Craft Designs supplies you can click on any of the pictures below and it will take you directly to their site.

ECD Design Team Focus on New Releases for Becky Seddon

2018-01-06 Cage of Love1

Hello my crafty friends welcome to my blog.

Today I have created a card to showcase the new release of designer Becky Seddon at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I have used Free As A Bird and Heartfelt Love and there are 10 more dies that are in the release so be sure to go to visit Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to see all the great creations from ECD 2018 Design Team.  These dies are available now.

Although I have not done a tutorial for this card I wanted to include pictures of how I used the large heart from Becky’s Heartfelt Love die set to make my heart card.  The first photo look closely at top of paper it shows how you place die just slightly above card fold so that it doesn’t completely cut off fold giving you a hinge.

“Love” in a Mist

2017-11-25 Lovein mist1

Hello my crafty friends thank you for stopping by my blog today.   I know it is such a busy time for many and  appreciate your taking the time to visit today.  Wishing you all the happiest of Holidays!

Today I am posting a card I made for a special couple that just got married.  I have used a couple of Susan ‘s Garden new releases Love in a Mist along with Els van de Burgt Scalloped Hearts.  Just love this new Love in a Mist die it is so versatile it is a great addition to your die collection.

For card base cut White Soft Finish Cardstock 6″ X 11″ score at 5-1/2″ fold on score line.

Cut blue cardstock 5-1/4″ X 5-3/4″ adhere to card base using Clear Double Sided Adhesive

Using largest Scalloped Hearts Die cut 1 heart from White Soft Finish Cardstock.  Attach to card front using dimensional tape.

Cut 3 Love in a Mist flowers from either White Soft Finish Cardstock which would be colored with alcohol or blue cardstock shaded with PanPastels Set 2.  Shape and assemble using Susan’s 4 pc. Tool Kit along with molding and leaf mat and Kid’s Choice Glue.  Susan’s Garden Club on Facebook has some great videos which help create flowers.  Susan does a Live Tutorial weekly on this Facebook page.  She is taking a break but will be back in January but all tutorials she has done are still there.

Cut leaves and 3-4 Garden Notes Maiden Hair Ferns from green cardstock.  On leaves with fingers pinch up leaves a bit to give dimension.  On ferns lay on molding mat use medium ball tool from kit to give some shape.  Add a little shading using Distress Ink.

To cut Love add Clear Double Sided Adhesive to back of black cardstock use love die from Suzanne Cannon’s Baby Love die set.  Add to left side of heart.

Adhere ferns, flowers and leaves using Kids Choice Glue to right side of heart.

Hope you have enjoyed my post today and will create your own card.  Click on any of product pictures below to purchase takes you to Elizabeth Craft Designs site.

You’re So Sweet

2017-05-28 your so sweet

Hi everyone thank you for stopping by my blog today.  Today the card is a Wiper Card featuring Susan’s Garden Notes Rose 3.

2017-05-28 your so sweet 2

The Wiper Card is very easy to make just click on this link for a complete tutorial.

For my card I used navy blue cardstock base and navy / white striped pattern paper.

  1.  Make card base
  2. Cut 2 Leafy Lace Hearts (1) from navy cardstock and (1) from white cardstock.  You will be using the large navy heart and the small white heart for this card so just set the other pieces aside for use on another card.  On the small white heart stamp your sentiment ( you’re so sweet from Joset Designs General Sentiment Stamps used here) .
  3. Using Kids Choice Glue attach hearts to card front.
  4. Cut 2 ModaScrap Leafy Branch 2 from white cardstock.  Cut long stem off each (discard) adhere branches to bottom of heart using Kids Choice Glue.
  5. Cut, shade and shape 1 Susan’s Garden Notes Rose 3 in color of your choice.  Make 2 large leaves from green cardstock.  Attach rose over the leafy branches using Kids Choice Glue add leaves.
  6. Cut piece of white cardstock to fit on your “wiper” stamp sentiment of choice in black and yellow stars using star stamp from Joset Designs Dream Sentiments.  (Happy Birthday from General Sentiments Stamp set used here)  Attach to wiper using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Hearts & Roses Birthday

2017-03-06-hearts-and-roses-2

Hello Everyone!  Today I am posting a birthday card I made for my niece using  one Susan’s Garden Notes newest dies Rose 3 and Els van de Burgt Studio Entwined Hearts.

Here is the tutorial so you can craft your own card.  Card is a 6″ X 6″ top fold but could also be done as a side fold – whichever you prefer.

  1.   Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock   6″ X 12″ score at 6″ fold on score line to form card base.
  2.   Cut patterned paper 5-3/4″ X 5-3/4″ adhere to front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
  3.   Cut 4 chains using Chains 1 die set and white Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Adhere to card front 1/4″ in from outer edge lining up ends at edges of patterned paper and watching corners to make sure they cross between links.  Do sides first then top and bottom.
  4.   Cut 4 of smallest hearts from Entwined Hearts die set using white Soft Finish Cardstock again with adhesive on the back.  Adhere to corners.
  5.   Cut 2 each of both sizes of Entwined Hearts from white Soft Finish Cardstock that has adhesive on the back.  Stack 2 largest together offsetting ever so slightly adding dimension.  Repeat for the smaller 2 hearts.  Adhere largest hearts on card front then add smaller ones on left side of larger hearts.
  6.   Using yellow cardstock (or color of your choice to match your patterned paper) and Susan’s Garden Notes Rose 3 cut enough petals to make 2 roses and 1 bud.  From darker green cardstock cut stems and leaves.  Shade and shape using Susan’s Garden 4 pc Tool Kit, Molding Mat and Leaf Pad.  For Help shading and shaping Susan’s video on rose 2 can be very helpful.  You can find video here
  7.   Cut 2 Moda Scrap Leafy Branch 5 from lighter green cardstock.   Add a little shading.  Lay branches face down on molding mat shape each leaf using small loop tool.  Turn over use tool on stems.  Adhere to right side of largest heart using Kids Choice Glue.  Adhere roses and leaves.
  8. Add sentiment (stickers, stamps or small die cuts can be used – stickers used here) to white cardstock in shape of your choice.  Adhere to left side of smaller heart using dimensional tape.
